Founded and endowed by local textile manufacturer George Maxwell in 1893, Rockville Public Library is
a privately owned non-profit 501(c)3 library serving the entire town of Vernon, CT. Two-thirds of the library's
operating costs are paid through the endowment left by the Maxwell family and by library fundraising. The
remaining third is paid through the Town of Vernon.

The library will be closed on Thursday, November 27 through Sunday,
November 30 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We will reopen on Monday,
December 1. The bookdrop will be open for returns.
