The Thing About Love by Julie James
I loved this book. I was so excited when I got approved for an eARC that I read it ahead of several other books with earlier publication dates. Julie James always comes through and especially with her FBI series. In this book two agents, John and Jessica, find themselves working together on a corruption case. This isn’t their first meeting as they actually were in the same training class in Quantico and did not get along at all. Coming together after all of these years forces them to talk about that initial time together and they discover that there might have been a little miscommunication going on. Amazingly enough, big brawny Army Ranger John and petite blonde lawyer Jessica rubbed each other the wrong way. Now with both of them a little older and having just come out of bad breakups, they are able to see each other in a different light.
Ms. James has all of her trademark elements in this book, action, red hot sex, a lot of snarky humor, and enough hints of past couples in the series to make the long time reader happy but not turn off a newbie. I have read the book twice since January and enjoyed it, even more, the second time. Now I’m waiting for the audio version so I can listen and enjoy it all over again.
