
Research
The
Rockville Library Reference Collection includes dictionaries, atlases, directories, and encyclopedias covering many
different topics. These include: art, biographies, collectibles, law,
literature, medicine, music, science and technology, wildlife, and much
more. We have the Connecticut General Statutes and the town budget. We
have an extensive Local History Collection. The NADA Used Vehicle Pricing Guides
as well as Tax Guides are also available.
The
Iconn state digital reference library can be used to do research from the
Rockville Library or from your home computer. The
Connecticut Digital Library offers access to magazine and newspaper articles,
reference books, health and business information, biographical information,
readers advisory and more. It features the following databases: The Hartford
Courant, ICONN Newspaper Collection, InfoTrac, Informe (full-text Spanish
language magazines), Business & Company Resource Center, Discovering
Collection (history, literature, biography, science and social studies), Health
& Wellness Resource Center, Wilson Biographies Plus, and What do I read
next?

Iconn can also be used to request items from other libraries in
the state if these items are not available locally or through our Bibliomation
system. You will need your library card to access Iconn from home and if making
a request, please be aware that items are sent only if agreed to by the sending
library and there is no guarantee that your request will be filled.
EBSCO
is another online source of databases,including: EBSCOhost Web, Searchasaurus, Kids Search, and Student
Research Center.
EBCSOhost
Web gives adults 4 databases to search. MasterFile Elite contains articles
from 1050 general interest publications. Primary Search has articles from 70
elementary school publications. Funk & Wagnall's has 25, 000
encyclopedic entries. Health Source has a myriad of consumer health
information. Searchasaurus
is a database geared for elementary school children. Kids Search is
for middle school children and Student Research Center is for High School
students and older.
