Rockville Public Library is supported by our endowment, gifts and donations, and by the taxes of the people of Vernon who expect the library to be clean, comfortable, and a safe place for selecting materials, reading, researching, studying, writing, and attending programs and meetings.
To this end, the Library has policies to protect the rights and safety of Library patrons, volunteers, and staff, and for preserving and protecting the Library’s materials, equipment, facilities, and grounds.
The Policies of the Board of Trustees of Rockville Public Library District are available to the public at any public service desk or on the Library’s website. Policies are reviewed regularly by Library Staff, Administration, and Board of Trustees. Changes are subject to approval by the Board of Trustees. The Library supports and endorses “Libraries: An American Value” as adopted by the American Library Association Council on February 3, 1999 as well as the Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read, Intellectual Freedom Statement, and Freedom to View.
